Advantages of solar energy in the environment
Solar panels are the main source of renewable energy for our production sites, which is good news for our planet and the environment.
Our purpose with these solar panels is to produce renewable energy with sunlight, and we will stop consuming non-renewable energy, which is sold to us by distribution. In our new production center, San Sebastian, we are going to have an energy saving of 25%, when we say saving we mean that the panels are going to produce 25% of this total energy. However, it is important to understand why solar panels are good for the environment.
Environmental benefits
Solar panels have several advantages for the environment due to their green energy and the absence of emissions during operation.
- It continues to massively reduce its dependence on the National Grid.
- No emissions. Because solar energy is based entirely on collecting energy from the sun and converting it into electricity, using it means you are not producing any greenhouse gases or contributing to global warming. You can reduce your home’s carbon footprint by 80% in one year.
- It is renewable. Solar energy is a renewable form of energy. That means there’s enough to go around because it’s an energy source that doesn’t run out. By relying on solar panels, we are a company less dependent on fossil fuels, and it can have a bigger impact than you can imagine.
- They last a long time and require little maintenance. Solar panels last about 50 years, so they should not need to be replaced for a long time.
Like these and more actions, in Capiro we want to become an example for the floriculture sector in Colombia, taking care of our planet, which allows us to continue cultivating dreams and satisfactions.
